Grouping Charges

Sometimes you may have more than one outstanding charge for a patient and you might want to take payment together rather than each charge separately.

Go to the patients account page in Socrates (in this example I’ve created three outstanding charges for €20,€30 and €40 for various charge types).

Select the three charges and then (at the bottom of the screen) click on ‘Payment’ – the following box will appear with the three charges already selected:

You’ll see that this standard charge window will default to ‘cash’ as a payment type. As you want to take payment on terminal change the charge type to Credit Card (billink should then automatically pre-fill then as your terminal type as shown below:

When you’re ready click on ‘Make Payment’ and you will be shown your usual section of terminals (physical and virtual). When you pick the terminal you wish to send the charge to you’ll see the total amount on the left (and also you’ll notice that the charge types are also displayed – eg consultation, ECG and Bloods. You’ll see that the total outstanding charge of ‘€90’ (the sum of €20,€30 and €40) is shown on the screen.

Thats it, take payment as usual and once complete the €90 fee will automatically sync to the patients chart.
